US 11¢ Red and Blue Liberty Series

Under Review

Description: This regular definitive postage stamp belongs to the highly collectible United States Liberty Series, which updated the nation's baseline postal designs during the mid-twentieth century. The artistic design showcases a detailed, right-facing portrait engraving of Lady Liberty based on the famous monument in New York Harbor, holding her torch aloft against a solid white backdrop. Encircled over her head is the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" printed in clean, dark blue capital letters. The central motif is beautifully framed by a rich, solid red border that incorporates white lettering reading "U.S. POSTAGE" across the top, "LIBERTY" at the base, and a bold "11¢" denomination tucked neatly into the upper right corner. This particular example bears a series of diagonal black ink lines across its face, representing a standard wavy line machine cancellation from processing through a United States post office to formally prevent reuse.
