Description: The left-hand side of this striking horizontal stamp presents the elegant cursive inscription "Mary Cassatt American Artist" positioned neatly above the crisp face value "5C U.S. POSTAGE" in clean block typography. The right portion reproduces her legendary 1893 oil painting, "The Boating Party," which vividly captures a man, a woman, and a baby traversing an expansive body of blue water in a yellow-trimmed rowboat.
Circa: 1966
Condition: Used.
Notes:
Issued as part of the American Artist series, the stamp recognizes Cassatt’s importance within both American art and the wider Impressionist movement. It is an especially appealing issue for collectors of art-on-stamp themes.
