Description: This classic mid-century aviation postage stamp from the United States features a dynamic, monochrome carmine-red engraving celebrating post-war global connectivity. The main illustration captures an angled, bank-turned view of a Douglas DC-4 Skymaster propped passenger liner cruising past a finely lined sky. Centered cleanly in the upper margin, the uppercase words "AIR MAIL" frame the top border, positioned immediately above a stylized, handwritten "6¢" denomination indicator. The lower frame baseline is grounded by simple block text reading "U.S. POSTAGE". This used specimen exhibits multiple thick, sweeping horizontal black waves from a machine-applied cancellation mark running completely across the plane's fuselage.
