United States Ninth Army Combat Patch

Under Review

Material: Cloth

Size: 60mm w x 63mm h

Description: This distinctive shoulder sleeve insignia features a nine-sided geometric shape bordered in rich red thread that signifies the numerical designation of the combat unit. A central white stylized letter 'A' is nested inside a scalloped white frame, anchoring the visual core of the design. The tight embroidery displays a classic "snowy back" construction texture visible along the perimeter of the flat, non-glared khaki-tan material base.

Circa: 1944-1945

Notes:

The Ninth Army played a monumental role during World War II under the command of General William Hood Simpson, notably helping to encircle the Ruhr Valley and crossing the Elbe River. The scarlet and white coloration chosen for the design intentionally mirrors the heraldic palette of the Fourth Army, which provided the original staff cadre and headquarters structure to form the new combat force.
