Notes:
The design of this patch embodies the heartiness, vigor, and wild spirit of the western United States, which is where the division originally drew its personnel. Activated in 1942, the 104th Infantry Division underwent intense, highly specialized training focused primarily on executing complex nighttime combat operations. This tactical specialization earned them their formidable combat moniker, the "Night Fighters." Under the fierce leadership of Major General Terry Allen, the Timberwolves deployed to northwestern Europe, logging nearly 200 consecutive days of grueling, front-line infantry combat across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
