Description: The multi-colored commemorative layout celebrates a major milestone in British environmental conservation. It prominently features a large central illustration of a Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) showing its camouflaged, streaked plumage, accompanied by smaller vignettes detailing its neck contraction, a feather pattern, and its specialized forward-facing defensive stance. A clean silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II anchors the top left corner, right above the text "The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust / Bittern." Printed on fine phosphor-tagged paper with clear edge perforations, the left-hand corner displays a bold "35" pence denomination, while the year "1996" runs vertically down the lower border.
