Description: This horizontal se-tenant strip consists of five individual 24p stamps issued to commemorate the centenary of the publication of "The Final Problem." Each stamp features a distinctive, atmospheric illustration depicting a specific classic adventure, complete with identifying text printed along the bottom edge. The scenes include Holmes and Dr. Watson examining a clue in "The Reigate Squire," a monstrous creature attacking in "The Hound of the Baskervilles," a dramatic indoor confrontation in "The Six Napoleons," a tense lantern-lit discovery in "The Greek Interpreter," and a desperate physical struggle over a precipice in "The Final Problem." Every stamp includes a gold silhouette profile of Queen Elizabeth II in the upper left corner next to the denomination. The lower white margin of the sheetlet contains five small circular color registration marks used during the printing process.
