Robert Burns Commemorative

Under Review

Description: This individual square postage stamp features a highly artistic, monochrome black intaglio style typography illustration set against a clean cream-coloured paper background. The central design prominently highlights the opening line of Robert Burns' famous 1785 poem, "Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim’rous beastie," utilizing a dramatic oversized capital letter "W" paired with stylized archaic serif fonts. Nestled inside the lower left quadrant is a charming, hand-drawn woodcut vignette of a wide-eyed field mouse standing on its hind legs with a curled tail. The upper left corner displays the numeric denomination "19", balanced in the upper right by a silver-foiled silhouette profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, while the baseline explicitly anchors the tribute text reading "ROBERT BURNS 1759–1796". The physical specimen is in an unissued, pristine mint condition state, defined by sharp, clean paper perforations lining all four sides.
