UK Pre-Decimal National Wilding Stamp

Under Review

Description: This stamp features the foundational Dorothy Wilding photographic portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II facing forward, wearing the glittering state diadem. Unlike the regional variants, this national issue frames the Queen’s bust inside a delicate, continuous circular wreath woven from the four symbolic floral emblems of the United Kingdom. This botanical framework elegantly incorporates the Tudor rose for England, the thistle for Scotland, the shamrock for Ireland, and the daffodil for Wales to signify crown unity. The lower portion of the design clearly showcases the pre-decimal denomination of 2d mirrored in both corners, framing the centered inscription text that reads POSTAGE REVENUE. This particular specimen shows a heavy, authentic wavy-line machine postal cancellation across the center face.
