Great Britain Pre-Decimal National Wilding Stamp

Under Review

Description: This stamp showcases the classic photographic portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II facing slightly left, captured by Dorothy Wilding and framed inside an elaborate circular wreath of symbolic flowers. The botanical framing carefully integrates the national emblems of the United Kingdom, specifically displaying the English rose, Scottish thistle, Irish shamrock, and Welsh daffodil to represent royal unity. The bottom center holds the inscription POSTAGE REVENUE, which is balanced on both outer sides by the pre-decimal denomination of 1/- (one shilling) positioned in the lower corners. The design is printed in a striking deep blue ink, and this used copy features a highly visible black hand-struck circular date stamp postal cancellation reading OFFICE and explicitly showcasing part of the year date as 1961 across the lower profile.
