Description: This commemorative postage stamp was issued by the British Royal Mail as part of the "100 Years of Going to the Pictures" series. The design spotlights the famous crowing rooster trademark of Pathé News overlaid on a stylized sepia-toned backdrop mimicking early celluloid motion picture film. Designed by the creative agency The Chase, the stamp includes a sleek silver-grey silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II in the upper right corner alongside a distinct circular 35p value indicator in the bottom right corner.

Circa: 1996

Condition: MNH

Notes:

Pathé’s weekly segments, shown before feature films, were the predecessor to television news, providing the public with footage from around the world, including major historical events, sports, and royal ceremonies.
