Description: This philatelic item is a 64-pence denomination commemorative postage stamp issued by Great Britain's Royal Mail as part of the specialized Millennium Series. Designed by the renowned Scottish painter Craigie Aitchison, the modern artwork depicts a haloed, swaddled infant Jesus resting on a vibrant green field beneath an intense, textured magenta sky. A single, diagonal yellow beam of celestial light pierces the scene from the upper edge toward the child, balanced by a solitary white star and a sketch-like tree branch. A pale blue quadruped, representing a lamb, stands faithfully over the cradle. The right-hand margin features the vertical text "Millennium 1999/5" and "First Christmas / ©Aitchison", while a gold silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II anchors the upper left corner.
