Royal Mail Darwin's Theory

Under Review

Description: This commemorative postage stamp was officially distributed by the British Royal Mail as part of its celebrated Millennium collection. The artwork showcases a living bird standing next to a detailed limestone fossil slab of Archaeopteryx, widely recognized as one of the most famous transitional fossils linking dinosaurs to modern birds. In the upper left corner, a solid brown silhouette profile of Queen Elizabeth II frames the design, balanced by a large “26” pence face value indicator in the lower right. Running vertically along the right-hand margin, clean sans-serif typography spells out the official release context, reading "Millennium 1999/19" directly beside the specific theme and artist credit, "Darwin’s theory / R Harris Ching".
