Treasure detail

King George V “Two Pence Orange”

Under Review

Description: This vertical postage stamp features the refined, left-facing profile of King George V sculpted by Australian artist Bertram Mackennel, cleanly enclosed within a solid central oval. An ornate imperial crown sits proudly atop the portrait frame, flanked on both sides by beautifully balanced, draped oak leaves and laurel branches. Bold numeric "2" markers anchor the lower left and right corners, sandwiching a central ribbon that reads "POSTAGE REVENUE." The definitive denomination "TWO PENCE" is displayed at the absolute base within a dedicated horizontal border. The stamp is printed in a deep, single-color orange ink on cream paper, finished with regular comb perforations and a partial black ink cancellation mark on the left margin.

Circa: 1912–1924

Condition: Used example with light circular cancel and minor upper margin wear from postal circulation.
