Prince Charles Ben Arkle Stamp

Under Review

Description: This 25-pence stamp features a watercolor painting titled "Ben Arkle, Sutherland, Scotland," created by HRH The Prince of Wales, who is now King Charles III. The artwork depicts the striking slopes of the Arkle mountain in the Northwest Highlands, rendered in warm, earthy tones with a small white structure nestled in the foreground. The design includes the Prince of Wales's feathers emblem in the top left and the traditional silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II in the top right corner.

Circa: 1994

Condition: MNH

Notes:

This stamp is part of a special five-stamp set commemorating the 25th anniversary of Prince Charles's investiture as the Prince of Wales. Uniquely, the set showcases his own watercolor paintings, highlighting his personal connection to the landscapes of the United Kingdom. The "C '91" signature visible in the bottom left corner indicates the painting was completed in 1991, three years before the stamp's release, and the famous Irish thoroughbred racehorse Arkle was actually named after this very mountain.
