Royal Mail Greetings Art Block

Under Review

Description: This horizontal se-tenant block contains ten 1st class postage stamps, each highlighting a distinct work of fine art centered around human interactions, performances, or affection. Organized in two rows of five, the upper tier features Pierre-Auguste Renoir's impressionistic "Dance in the Country," a stylized modern painting of two faces facing each other amidst trees, Auguste Rodin's emotional sculpture "The Kiss," Beryl Cook's humorous "The Birthday Girls," and a vibrant color-blocked portrait of two jazz musicians. The bottom tier mirrors this variety with an illustration of classical Indian dancers, a nostalgic photographic portrait of Alice Keppel with her daughter, L.S. Lowry's distinct industrial-era street scene "Children Playing," a dynamic painting of circus clowns by Emily Firmin and Justin Mitchell, and a minimalist line-art sketch of a couple embracing alongside floral details. Every individual stamp features a silver silhouette profile of Queen Elizabeth II in an upper corner to designate its official class value. Perforation lines trace the margins of each piece, cleanly dividing the colorful mini-exhibition into manageable units.
