Forth Road Bridge Commemorative Stamp

Under Review

Description: This stamp, inscribed with the bold header FORTH ROAD BRIDGE 1964, features a striking geometric layout divided into vertical panels of pink, blue, and violet. The left section showcases an artistic perspective drawing of the newly built suspension bridge structure spanning the water against a pale sun. The classic Dorothy Wilding photographic portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II facing slightly left is superimposed on the right side over the pink and violet backdrop. The pre-decimal denomination of 3d is clearly positioned in the lower-right corner, and this used specimen displays a crisp, black hand-struck circular Douglas municipal postal cancellation cleanly marking the right half of the stamp.
