Notes:
Part of the 25th anniversary of the investiture of the HRH The Prince of Wales. Dolwyddelan Castle was built in the early 13th century by Llywelyn the Great (Llywelyn ap Iorwerth), one of Wales’s most powerful native rulers, to command the mountain pass linking Conwy and the interior of Gwynedd. The castle’s weathered ruins, nestled among the hills, remain a potent symbol of Welsh resilience and identity.
The entire set is unique because every landscape vignette was reproduced directly from original watercolor paintings painted by King Charles III during his long tenure as the Prince of Wales, representing various scenic locations across the four home nations.
