Christmas Carol Fezziwig Traffic Light Strip

Under Review

Description: This vertical strip of three United Kingdom postage stamps commemorates Charles Dickens' classic holiday novella, A Christmas Carol. Each 25p stamp features a whimsical, ink-and-watercolor illustration depicting the jovial Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig walking behind a young boy carrying a festive, ivy-wrapped branch. The character names "Mr & Mrs Fezziwig" and the book title "A Christmas Carol 1843" are written out in a fluid, elegant cursive script along the top and bottom borders. The right side of each stamp houses a bright orange silhouette profile of Queen Elizabeth II resting directly above the large numeric denomination. Attached seamlessly to the right side of the strip is the original selvage margin, which contains seven circular color checking blocks used by the printer to verify ink alignment.

Circa: 1993
