Royal Mail Christmas Carol Strip

Under Review

Description: This item consists of a vertical strip of three 30-pence commemorative postage stamps issued by the United Kingdom's Royal Mail. Cataloged officially as Stanley Gibbons SG 1792, the set was designed to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Charles Dickens's iconic novella "A Christmas Carol". The stamp art portrays Ebenezer Scrooge walking through a snowy scene, flanked by fearful onlookers and a child carrying holiday greenery. Each stamp is rendered in a colorful, scratchy ink-and-watercolor style, featuring the handwritten name "Scrooge" at the top and the book's subtitle and original release date, "A Christmas Carol 1843", elegantly inscribed at the base. The right side of the strip preserves the original selvage border from the printer's sheet, complete with a stacked grid of circular technical color registry test dots.

Circa: 1993

Condition: Mint Strip of 3 with right selvage traffic lights
