UK Cathedrals Block

Under Review

Description: This vintage philatelic piece is a se-tenant block configuration originating from the iconic British Cathedrals stamp issue. Each stamp features a pre-decimal face value of 5d and presents highly detailed line drawings of significant structural landmarks including St. Giles' in Edinburgh, Canterbury Cathedral, Durham Cathedral, and York Minster. Accompanying each main illustration is a specialized secondary vignette showing an adjacent architectural detail, such as a stained glass rose window or a stone carving, positioned directly beneath a solid monochrome silhouette profile of Queen Elizabeth II. The right-hand margin retains a portion of its original salvage marking, indicating a full sheet value of one pound and ten shillings.
