Victorian Atkin Brothers Beaded Salt Spoon

Under Review

Material: Silver-plate (electroplated nickel silver)
Size: 62 mm Long x 20mm Bowl

Description: This delicate, small-scale spoon is meticulously proportioned with a completely circular, deep-set bowl designed explicitly for dipping into master salt cellars. The handle features a traditional "Beaded" pattern, structured with a raised, continuous line of tiny ornamental spheres lining the entire perimeter edge. On the reverse side, the piece is stamped with the gothic maker’s initials "HA EA FA," representing the elite British metalworking firm Atkin Brothers. The item is composed of Electroplated Nickel Silver (EPNS) and displays a weathered, authentic age patina with heavy surface tarnish inside the bowl.

Circa: 1853–1910

Notes:

The "HA EA FA" stamp serves as an iconic manufacturer identification mark representing three English silversmith brothers: Harry Wright Atkin, Edward Thomas Atkin, and Frank Shaw Atkin. They officially assumed management of their father Henry's historic Sheffield flatware firm in the mid-1800s.
