Somerset Light Infantry Shoulder Title

Under Review

Material: Brass
Dimensions: 51mm (width) × 11mm (height)
Description: This vintage military shoulder title originates from the British Army and was worn by other ranks serving in the Somerset Light Infantry (Prince Albert's). The insignia is die-stamped entirely out of a single piece of heavy brass or gilding metal, capturing a deeply curved crescent layout that features the regiment name "SOMERSET" spelled out in bold, raised block serif capital lettering Somerset Light Infantry.
Reverse: Plain flat back with soldered hex shaped lugs.
Circa: 1881–1918
Notes:
Worn by other ranks of the Somerset Light Infantry on khaki service dress during the First World War. The single-line arched “SOMERSET” pattern was among the earliest simplified regimental identifiers.
