Material: Brass (gilt tone, field-aged)
Size: 51mm w × 14mm h
Description: This authentic shoulder title displays the word "SEAFORTH" formed from solid, cut-out capital letters arranged in a downward-arching crescent shape. The face of the gilded brass alloy exhibits a weathered golden tone with visible vertical linear textures and dark oxidation framing the inner borders of each letter. Measuring exactly 51mm in width by 14mm in height, the piece is structurally engineered to fit flush against a uniform shoulder strap. The unmarked reverse side is equipped with two integrated dual attachment lugs, currently secured by an authentic brass split-pin fastener that slides horizontally behind the lettering to lock the insignia onto thick service cloth.
Circa: 1908-1961
Notes:
This metal shoulder title was officially designated for wear by the Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany's), a historic line infantry regiment of the British Army celebrated for their distinguished service across both World Wars. The specific downward-curved configuration was designed to seamlessly follow the shoulder seam anatomy of standard khaki service dress tunics and woolen greatcoats.
