Description: This heavy-duty shoulder title represents the iconic service insignia worn on the epaulets of service dress uniforms to designate field-level unit affiliation. The solid brass block lettering displays the initials "RASC" arranged horizontally in a continuous frame configuration to provide maximum structural durability during battlefield operations. Designed to withstand harsh outdoor wear, the stamping features an unembellished, open-air stencil format that allowed the underlying khaki wool fabric of the service coat to remain subtly visible behind the metal. The unmarked reverse side is fitted with twin stout wire hex style loops.
Circa: Early to Mid 20th Century
Notes:
The Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) was a critical branch of the British Army responsible for land transport, logistics, and supplies. Formed in 1888, it provided food, water, fuel, and ammunition to the frontline troops. The corps was dissolved in 1965, with its duties eventually absorbed by the Royal Logistic Corps
