Northumberland Fusiliers Shoulder Title

Under Review

Material: Brass
Size: 22mm (width) × 12mm (height)
Description: This compact rectangular 22mm by 12mm shoulder title badge is struck from solid brass and features the distinctive monogram configuration of the British Army's Northumberland Fusiliers. The face displays the interlocking regimental initials "NF" rendered in thick block typography with sharp, clean serifs at each corner. The reverse face features a solid, unpolished brass matrix equipped with two heavy-duty, square-soldered hex-lug loops designed to accept a securing cotter pin through the heavy wool fabric of a service dress tunic.

Circa: 1907-1935
Notes:

The Northumberland Fusiliers were famously known as the "Fighting Fifth" and grew to become the second-largest infantry regiment in the British Army during the First World War. This simple NF title replaced earlier, more elaborate three-tiered patterns to streamline factory production as the military expanded rapidly before global hostilities broke out.
