Material: Bronze (Garrard & Co struck presentation piece)
Dimensions: Approx. 52 mm × 40 mm (oval)
Description: This exceptional 52mm x 40mm oval bronze commemorative medallion showcases a highly detailed, crisp relief of a World War I British Heavy Tank (Mark IV / Mark V "Male" variant). The armored vehicle is rendered with intricate precision, capturing individual hull rivets, the side gun sponson, driving sprockets, and the wrap-around caterpillar track system that revolutionized trench warfare. The top arch of the presentation piece is inscribed with the prominent raised text "THE ROYAL TANK REGIMENT," while the lower boundary reads "THE STANDARD PARADE 12 JULY 1985." Struck with a beautiful, satin-patinated bronze finish, this commemorative piece is housed in its original luxury red leatherette presentation case lined in plush crimson velvet and cream silk. The inside lid carries the prestigious maker stamp: "By Appointment to H.M. The Queen – Goldsmiths & Crown Jewellers – Garrard & Co Ltd, 112 Regent Street, W.1."
Circa: 1985
Notes:
This premium commemorative medallion was struck and distributed exclusively in July 1985 to mark the Presentation of New Standards ceremony held for the regiment.
