Obverse: The item is an authentic, circulated United Kingdom two-shillings coin (popularly known as a florin) issued during the height of the Second World War. Struck from a 50% silver alloy, the obverse features the realistic, bare-headed profile portrait of King George VI facing to the left, which was beautifully modeled to capture the fine strands of his hair and facial contours. Encircling the regal portrait along the beaded outer rim is the prominent Latin title inscription reading "GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX", serving as a formal abbreviation for his royal status. Tucked subtly near the base of the neck truncation are the tiny, highly distinct initials "HP" belonging to the original master engraver.
Reverse: Crowned Tudor rose with thistle and shamrock at sides; G R flanking, date below, legend FID:DEF:IND:IMP:TWO SHILLINGS 1943; design by George Kruger Gray (initials KG below rose).
