Obverse: This original, post-Victorian coin is an authentic British sixpence denomination struck in a fine composition of 92.5% sterling silver. The obverse face features the bare-headed, left-facing portrait of King George V, beautifully designed by the acclaimed Australian sculptor Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal. The monarch’s initials "B.M." are subtly placed on the truncation of the neck, completely surrounded by a raised beaded border and a formal Latin legend that reads "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX". This specific phrase translates directly to "George V, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains". The coin shows a heavily circulated, authentic silver-gray patina with minor surface scratching and soft smoothing across the king's hair and beard from its long time in public commerce.
Reverse: Crowned lion standing atop the imperial crown; legend FID: DEF: IND: IMP: SIXPENCE with date 1916 below.
