Material: Bronze (Approx. 95.5% Copper, 3% Tin, 1.5% Zinc)

Obverse: This artifact is a pre-decimal United Kingdom one penny coin featuring the left-facing profile of King George V, who reigned during a period of monumental global transformation. The circumscribed Latin text reads "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:", translating to "George V, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India." Struck in heavy bronze with a standard diameter of 30.8 millimeters, these large pennies were the backbone of daily cash transactions across the British Empire, passing through the hands of millions during World War I and the Great Depression. The portrait was originally designed by the highly acclaimed Australian sculptor Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal, whose initials "B.M." are subtly embossed at the base of the King's neck on pristine examples.
Reverse: Seated Britannia facing right, holding trident and shield with Union Jack, denomination ONE PENNY and date 1936 below.
