Material: .500 Silver (50% Ag, 50% Cu)
Diameter: 32 mm

Description: This impressive British silver coin features the sharp, uncrowned left-facing profile of King George VI on the obverse, beautifully modeled by the acclaimed designer Thomas Humphrey Paget. Encircling the crisp imperial portrait is the formal abbreviated Latin legend "GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX", declaring him King by the Grace of God of all the Britains. The rim of the specimen is framed by a highly detailed, continuous beaded border pattern that serves to protect the fine inner fields and the artist's subtle "HP" initials nestled just below the truncation of the neck.

Reverse: This historic reverse design features the Royal Shield of Arms, meticulously split into four quarters representing England, Scotland, and Ireland, topped by a stylized crown suspension loop. Flanking the central shield are two crowned royal monograms featuring the elegant stylized letters "G" and "R" to denote George Rex, the reigning monarch. The lower border proudly states the denomination "HALF CROWN" next to the mintage date of 1939, while the upper curve carries the abbreviated Latin titles "FID: DEF: IND: IMP:", identifying the king as Defender of the Faith and Emperor of India.
