Obverse: This antique silver coin represents the half crown denomination of the United Kingdom, featuring Sir Bertram Mackennal's left-facing bare head portrait of King George V. Surrounding the regal bust is the abbreviated Latin inscription "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX," which translates directly to "George V, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains." The fields and raised details show thousands of fine, microscopic hairline circulation marks and a soft silver-grey patina consistent with extensive, honest commercial handling in everyday pre-decimal British trade. The outer edge is finished with a protective, uniform denticle border ring just inside the reeded rim.
Reverse: Quartered shield of the Royal Arms flanked by crowned (reverse)GG, Tudor rose above, legend FID: DEF: IND: IMP: HALF CROWN 1934; design by George Kruger Gray.
