Obverse: This half crown represents a core denomination of British silver coinage issued during the historic reign of King George V. The obverse features the left-facing, uncrowned bare head portrait of the King, which was originally sculpted and designed by the prominent Australian medalist Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal. Encircling the royal likeness is the formal abbreviated Latin legend reading "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX", a majestic title translating to "George V, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains." Traditionally valued at two shillings and sixpence (or one-eighth of a pound sterling), this coin was a heavy, high-utility piece of pocket change widely circulated across the British Empire for everyday commercial trade.
Reverse: Crowned quartered shield of arms with two small crowns flanking, legend FID: DEF: IND: IMP: HALF CROWN 1932
