Description: This military cap badge represents The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), the oldest and most senior line infantry regiment of the British Army. The two-piece, bi-metal construction features a beautifully detailed silver-white metal Star of the Order of the Thistle, layered with a textured diamond pattern along its radiating points. Securely riveted onto this silver star base is a gilded brass central assembly consisting of a downward-arching motto scroll embossed with the regimental title "THE ROYAL SCOTS". Encased directly within this central oval band is a highly detailed, front-facing brass figure of Saint Andrew holding his iconic saltire cross, all resting against a distinctive, custom-cut scarlet red cloth backing patch that peeks through the open metalwork.
Reverse: Two copper lugs for attachment.
