Cameronians Scottish Rifles Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: White metal (die-cast)
Dimensions: 70 mm width × 60 mm height
Description: The piece is a die-struck standard other ranks' glengarry or cap badge representing The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). The design seamlessly integrates deep heraldic symbols tied tightly to Scottish military history. At the apex sits a multi-pointed star, which is modeled after the historic Mullet or Douglas Star dating back to medieval Scotland. Beneath it, a light infantry bugle horn hangs suspended from strings tied into a delicate bow. These elements are completely enclosed within a deeply detailed, open wreath made entirely of Scottish thistle flowers and leaves. The back features two strong, un-hallmarked wire attachment lugs meant to anchor it firmly onto a traditional glengarry or pugaree cap.
Circa: 1881-1968
Notes:

This specific pattern remained remarkably unchanged throughout the regiment's entire operational lifespan, serving through both the First and Second World Wars until the regiment was disbanded in May 1968.
