Material: Bi-metal
Size: 41 mm x 42 mm
Description: This uniform element is an original King George V to King George VI era die-stamped brass cap badge issued for the Army Educational Corps. The central motif depicts an open book of knowledge placed prominently in front of two crossed lances, which feature swallow-tailed pennons or flags fluttering outward at the top. Grounding the academic design is a structured, three-part scrolling banner that bears the cleanly raised title text "ARMY EDUCATIONAL CORPS". The insignia is voided between the book and the lower banner to create a crisp, high-relief profile against a soldier's headwear. The reverse side is left completely unmarked by a manufacturer and features an integrated brass slider designed to slip smoothly into a standard military peaked cap or beret.
