Army Catering Corps Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Brass

Size: 25 mm w x 40 mm h

Description: The badge is struck in solid gilding metal and centers upon a detailed representation of a Grecian brazier filled with high, stylized rising flames. This central culinary motif is neatly encircled by a rounded ring frame stamped with the words "ARMY CATERING CORPS" in clean, raised block lettering. The entire circular structure is surmounted at its apex by a majestic Tudor King's Crown (KC). The reverse side features a subtly aged brass finish completely free of manufacturer marks, complete with its original vertical attachment slider designed to slot securely onto service caps or berets.

Circa: 1941-1953

Notes:

Formed in 1941, the Army Catering Corps professionalized military catering within the British Army during the Second World War. The cauldron motif made the badge immediately legible in purpose while still fitting the compact, practical style of wartime and early post-war service insignia.
