Royal Corps of Transport

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass

Size: 25 mm

Description: The central design features the St. Edward’s Crown—universally designated by militaria enthusiasts as the Queen's Crown—positioned directly within the center of a stylized, sharply detailed eight-pointed starburst pattern. This regal emblem serves as the core symbol of the Royal Corps of Transport (RCT), which managed crucial vehicular logistics, supply lines, and transport infrastructure for the British Army. Crafted with a polished chrome or anodized "Staybrite" front face to eliminate the need for heavy polishing, the button features a distinct two-piece construction mechanically crimped over a heavy brass reverse complete with a secure, integrated wire loop shank.

Reverse: Brass backed with Loop shank; marked Buttons Ltd Birmingham.

Circa: 1953–1993

Notes:

Formed in 1965 by merging elements of the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) and the Royal Engineers (RE), the RCT utilized this striking starburst button configuration as a universal pattern across all ranks
