Material: Brass
Size: 22mm
Description: This military artifact is an original British Army service dress uniform tunic button representing the Royal Regiment of Artillery. The circular convex button features an intricately raised design of a detailed, 12-spoked muzzle-loading field gun pointing left, sitting atop a stylized grassy ground line. Suspended directly above the carriage is the classic Tudor Crown, commonly referred to by collectors as the King's Crown. Constructed as an unmarked two-piece brass component, it comprises a stamped face crimped tightly over a plain metal backing plate equipped with an intact central wire loop shank for uniform tailoring. The surface has developed a beautiful, naturally muted golden-brown brass patina with minor dark spotting inside the crevices from authentic period wear.
Circa: 1901-1952
