Royal Air Force Button

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass
Diameter: 15mm
Description: This vintage military uniform button is an authentic piece of World War II period service dress hardware issued by the Royal Air Force. Struck in solid brass, the face features a crisp, raised relief engraving of the classic eagle in full flight, depicted with its wings swept back and down to signify soaring power. Positioned directly over the bird is the Tudor Crown, universally recognized by military historians as the King's Crown. Measuring precisely 15mm in diameter, this rimless small-pattern button has developed a deep, authentic dark-brown copper oxidation and uniform verdigris across its details from decades of age. The reverse side features a completely unmarked surface configuration fitted with a solid, integrated metal shank ring designed to be threaded or split-pinned onto the lapel, pocket flap, or side cap of a service uniform.
Reverse: Solid back with integral loop shank.
Circa: 1918–1952
