Middlesex Regiment Albuhera Uniform Button

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass, convex with fixed shank
Size: 20 mm
Description: This item is an official Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own) other-ranks uniform tunic button measuring 20mm in diameter. The heavily domed, die-stamped face highlights the heraldic Prince of Wales's feathers rising elegantly from a ducal coronet. A split ribbon scroll interwoven behind the base carries the traditional German royal motto "Ich Dien" (I Serve), while a prominent lower banner proudly displays the battle honor designation "ALBUHERA". A sweeping laurel wreath wraps around the outer edges of the central design, and the reverse side carries a solid wire eyelet shank marked by the tailor M. Abrahams of 27 Hanbury Street, London.
Circa: 1881-1924
