Material: Gilt Brass
Diameter: 23mm
Description: The obverse features a deeply raised fouled anchor design, complete with an intricate rope cable winding gracefully around the vertical shank and stock. The central anchor motif rests against a finely detailed background of horizontal lined textures, all contained within a crisp, raised rope-twist border framing the outer rim. Structurally, the button utilizes an unvoided, pierced shell-back construction, featuring a hollow two-piece design where the struck front face is wrapped securely around a separate plain reverse backing disc. The reverse is entirely unmarked by a manufacturer and pierced shell design used to sew the piece directly onto a heavy wool uniform jacket or greatcoat.
