Under Review

Material: Gilt metal with blue enamel
Size: 22 mm × 33 mm
Description: This official emergency services lapel badge measures 22 millimeters wide by 33 millimeters high and is die-struck from a solid brass base metal. The design features an oval frame filled with smooth, light sky-blue enamel, which is intersected across the center by a prominent horizontal banner displaying the raised text designation "INSTRUCTOR". Running along the lower curve of the oval border are the matching enameled words "CIVIL DEFENCE", while the upper apex is beautifully surmounted by the detailed St. Edward's Crown (Queen's Crown). The central core of the badge is left open in a voided style, and the reverse face features a flat, un-hallmarked profile fitted with an integrated brass crescent or horseshoe-shaped buttonhole clip meant to hook directly into a civilian suit lapel.
Circa: 1953 – 1968
Notes:
This specific badge belongs directly to the Cold War era of the British Civil Defence Corps, a specialized volunteer organization established in 1949 to safeguard civilians against potential nuclear attacks and conventional bombing raids.
