Commonwealth King's Crown Brass Rank Insignia

Under Review

Material: Gilding metal (brass)
Size: 27 mm W × 28 mm H
Description: This original regular army rank insignia represents the historical Tudor Crown pattern utilized across the British Armed Forces and Commonwealth nations. Struck from a single piece of heavy gilding metal brass, the design captures the iconic domed profile of the Royal Crown. The lower headband rim is embellished with a high-relief alternating pattern of raised circular jewels and diamond-shaped lozenges. Two rounded arches, lined with distinct rows of spherical pearls, curve upward to meet at a central velvet cap depression. The summit is anchored by an ornate mound that supports a formal cross pattée. This unmarked insignia was designed to be worn on the lower uniform sleeves of Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers.
Reverse: Two original copper lugs for split-pin attachment.
Circa: 1902 – 1952
Notes:

This stylized crown design was officially authorized by King Edward VII upon his accession in 1902 to standardize military heraldry, and it remained the absolute baseline rank symbol throughout both World Wars under King George V and King George VI.
