Under Review

Material: Gilt brass
Size: 70 mm w × 85 mm h
Description: This substantial British military insignia is an authentic dress uniform helmet plate issued to the Royal Marines. The piece is struck in durable gilding metal and features an eight-pointed multi-rayed Brunswick star background. At the top sits a detailed St. Edward's (Queen's) crown, which rests directly above a curved banner scroll honoring the battle honor "GIBRALTAR". The center houses a relief representation of the Earth's Eastern Hemisphere, bordered tightly by a circular band displaying the Latin corps motto "PER MARE PER TERRAM" (By Sea, By Land) and wrapped in a classic laurel wreath. A detailed fouled anchor anchors the design at the bottom junction.
Reverse: Unmarked with two copper lugs for split-pin attachment.
Circa: 1953 – 1970s
