Regimental Elephant Collar Insignia

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass
Size: 30mm w × 25mm h each
Description: This item is an original, matching pair of facing collar badges from the Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment of the British Army. Sculpted in gilded brass, the left and right insignia are purposefully mirrored to face inward toward each other when pinned to the uniform jacket collar. Each piece depicts a highly detailed elephant standing over a grassy plot of ground, carrying a caparisoned saddle cloth and an ornate howdah atop its back. The reverse sides remain completely unmarked but retain their original, robust attachment lugs, backplates, and cotter pins entirely intact.
Circa: Late 19th and throughout the 20th Century
