Material: Silvered white metal with brass pin bar
Description: 22 mm W × 32 mm H
Description: This historic piece is an authentic variant of the British military collar insignia belonging to The Staffordshire Yeomanry (Queen's Own Royal Regiment). Struck in silvered brass or white metal, the design features the traditional Staffordshire Knot with a distinctive corded texture, completely enclosed by a circular belt reading "The Queens Own Royal Regiment". Surmounting the circular band is the rare, short-lived Jubilee Crown, which is recognized by its broad, outward-flaring arches that emulate the Imperial State Crown redesign of 1897. The reverse of this unmarked piece features its original dual horizontal brass fixing lugs and a secure cotter pin intended to fasten the emblem tightly onto an officer's dress jacket. This specific specimen exhibits distinct, irregular pierce-through holes right through the raised rope design on the left loop, caused by historic die-thinning and generations of aggressive uniform polishing.
Circa: 1897-1902
Notes:
Worn or degraded over time with wormlike tunnels through the cast.
