Description: This uniform insignia represents an official piece of service dress uniform hardware issued by the Venerable Order of St. John. The center of the badge features a circular medallion containing the iconic Maltese cross, flanked by alternating lions and unicorns hidden within the intersecting corners. Enclosing this central crest is a polished circular garter band deeply embossed with the organization's name "THE ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE". The entire circular assembly is superimposed onto an eight-pointed multi-faceted star design, with the topmost and bottommost points modified to resemble stylized, spear-like finials.
Reverse: The reverse side features two distinct, sturdy wire mounting lugs designed to take a securing cotter pin through heavy uniform lapel fabric.
