Boy Scouts Rover Scout Buttonhole Badge

Under Review

Material: Brass with blue enamel detail
Size: 17mm w x 22mm h
Description: This original Boy Scouts organization membership insignia features the traditional arrowhead design. The central fleur-de-lis motif is struck from heavily textured base metal with a vibrant brass plating finish. Replacing the standard First Class rank stars on the outer wings are the distinct initials "R" and "S", which are inlaid with a deep green or teal enamel wash. A stylized banner loops around the bottom base of the emblem, bearing the organization's overarching title "BOY SCOUTS" in polished, high-relief block lettering. The reverse side features a fixed, flat horseshoe-shaped crescent slider engineered specifically to lock tightly into a gentleman's suit jacket lapel buttonhole.
Circa: 1920-1950s
Notes:
This insignia identifies a member of the Rover Scouts, a senior branch of the organization founded by Lord Baden-Powell in 1918 to provide a structured leadership and service program for young men over the age of eighteen. The letter "R" and "S" layout represents the official second pattern design introduced during the interwar period to distinguish advanced Rover members from standard younger troops. The distinct green enamel wash applied within the recessed letters matches the official branch color associated with Rovering uniforms, flags, and epaulettes.
