Scots Guards Collar Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilding metal or white metal (appears silvered)
Size: 30mm w × 30mm h
Description: The item is an original, uniform-removed British military insignia representing an other ranks collar badge for the Scots Guards. This die-struck white metal or German silver badge features a highly detailed Scottish thistle at its center, showcasing fine, granular texturing across the main flower head and sharp vertical ribbing along the crown blossom. The central stem splits downward to form a balanced base, flanked on both sides by a matching pair of jagged thistle leaves that curve upward to frame the bloom. The reverse features dual specialized hexagonal-shaped loop lugs (hex lugs) brazed to the back plate, which are typical of high-quality Guards regiment contract manufacturing and were used to secure the piece tightly to the collar of a ceremonial tunic.
Circa: 1901-1952
